Although I like fish, we hardly cook it at home. My dad can’t tolerate the taste of fish and would only enjoy it if it was fried. My mom, though, doesn’t like fried fish and preferred steam fish as she is afraid that fried fish would raise her cholesterol level. So now you know why. I do like fish, so I try to get some when eating out, even if it’s just McDonald’s fillet o’ fish burger.
Here is a really simple steam fish Thai style. It will require a total of thirty minutes to prepare and cook, though. When it comes to cooking or baking, I think that preparation takes way more time than it should, unless we are a head chef then we would have everything prepared for us. LOL
Meanwhile, this recipe for Steam Thai Fish, or steam fish Thai style, serves six to eight persons. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1.5kg. fish fillet
1 ikan bilis stock cube
1 tablespoon cooking oil
Ingredients A:
1.5 cups Thai Chili Sauce
150gm plain yogurt
1 stalk lemon grass, thinly sliced
6 Thai chilli padi, sliced
5 cloves garlic, minced
3 sprigs coriander leaves, sliced
2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
2 tablespoons lime juice
salt and sugar to taste
Preparation:

2. Steam fish for ten minutes or until cooked.
3. Meanwhile, mix Ingredients A and pour over cooked fish just before serving.
