Here is another gourmet Chinese dish. Isn’t it vibrant and colorful? Cooking this is exceptionally simple. Stir-frying is basic Chinese cooking, as far as I know. The other is steaming. This is also a popular Chinese New Year dish. So let’s just cut the chat and take a look at the recipe. This recipe serves four to five persons. No expensive ingredients required. Only basic cooking skills needed!
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons cooking oil
3 slices young ginger
2 cloves garlic, sliced
300g fresh scallops (could be replaced with prawns)
300g broccoli, wedged and blanched
100g carrot, sliced thinly
Ingredients A – blend together
1 tablespoon Gourmet Stock Chicken & Scallop
1 teaspoon Chinese “Hua-Tiao” wine (optional)
1 teaspoon cornflour
1 teaspoon sesame oil
150ml water
Preparation:
1. Heat oil, fry ginger and garlic till fragrant.
2. Add scallops, stir-fry over high fire for two minutes. Set aside.
3. With remaining oil, fry broccoli and carrot for two minutes.
3. Pour in Ingredients A, simmer till sauce thickens.
4. Add in fried scallops stir and mix well.
5. Serve hot.
